This policy explains how CaptionKite handles information when you use this website.
Your media files
Files selected in any CaptionKite tool are decoded and processed within your browser. They are not uploaded to CaptionKite, and we cannot view, recover, or store them. When you paste a direct media URL, your browser requests that file from its original host; CaptionKite does not proxy or store it. So that large downloads do not have to be held in memory, your browser writes the fetched file into its own private storage for this site while you work. It is not uploaded anywhere, and it is deleted when you cancel, load another file, or leave the page.
Browser AI models
On first use, your browser requests speech-recognition models from Hugging Face. Your transcript remains in your browser and is not sent to CaptionKite. Model download requests are subject to Hugging Face's privacy practices, and the model files can be cached locally by your browser for future visits.
Contact messages
When you contact us, the form service processes the email address, category, subject, and details you submit so we can review and respond to your message. Do not include passwords, confidential recording links, or other sensitive information. Contact messages are retained only as long as reasonably needed to respond, prevent abuse, and improve the service.
Hosting and analytics
Our hosting provider, Vercel, may process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, requested page, and timestamps for security and reliability. We use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate page views, referrers, countries, browsers, operating systems, and device types. Vercel Web Analytics does not use third-party cookies and reports anonymous aggregate data rather than attaching activity to a permanent identity.
Advertising and cookies
When advertising is enabled on this site, Google AdSense may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure ads. If you are in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google's certified consent management platform will ask for your consent choices before any non-essential advertising storage is used. Google explains how it uses information from sites that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Data requests
Because we do not create user accounts or receive media files, we normally have no media or profile record to provide or delete. You may contact us through the contact page about a message you previously submitted.
