CaptionKite is a focused captioning utility built around a browser-first principle: when modern browsers can do the work safely on your device, your file should not need to visit our server.

Why browser-local?

Local processing reduces waiting, hosting waste, and exposure of private recordings. It also lets useful tools remain free without imposing accounts, watermarks, or small monthly usage allowances.

How the site is supported

We plan to use clearly identified advertising around—not inside—the tools. Advertising never changes the output, and we do not ask visitors to click advertisements. The tools remain useful when an ad blocker is enabled.

Our limits

Browser processing depends on the visitor's device and media support. We publish those limitations instead of uploading files silently or promising that every format will work. We also avoid features that bypass a content provider's rules or encourage unauthorized copying.
